Live Music: Erin Cole-Baker

Erin Cole-Baker is an independent singer-songwriter and folk-Americana artist known for her velvety vocals, rich melodies, and intimate storytelling. Born in Santa Barbara, California, she moved with her family to the rural, beachside community of Whangarei Heads in Northland, New Zealand, at a young age. Raised in a deeply musical household, she began her musical journey with classical piano before later expanding into jazz, guitar, and songwriting.

Drawn back to the American West's folk scene in her early twenties, Erin and her husband settled in Bend, Oregon, after attending the Sisters Folk Festival. She quickly became a prominent fixture in Central Oregon's music community, performing as part of the folk duo The Erins and releasing acclaimed solo albums like Talon and Spur (2009) and Big Sky (2011). Following a brief return to New Zealand to raise her daughters, she broke a seven-year hiatus in 2018 with her critically praised live-to-tape album Till the Feeling's Right. Today, she continues to write, record, and perform her deeply evocative music across both the Pacific Northwest and New Zealand.

Live Music: Justin Little feat. Taylor Rheault

Justin Little has been writing songs since he was a teenager in Sisters High School's Americana Project. His latest album, 42, which he debuted at the Lazy Z in January, gathers more than twenty years of that writing into one place. These are songs about the tender, complicated work of being a person: parenting and the ache of knowing when to let a child fly, the inner child who's still holding it all, the slow trade of self-shame for self-compassion, and the search for a light that burns brighter than our mistakes. By day Justin is a family therapist, and it shows. The songs sit honestly with pain and refuse to leave anyone alone in it. You'll catch the fingerprints of Nickel Creek, Ben Harper, Amos Lee and Sufjan Stevens in the mix, but the voice is unmistakably his own. For this show he'll be joined by violinist Taylor Rheault, whose playing gives the songs room to breathe. Stripped back to voice, guitar, and violin, it's an intimate evening, offered up close in the community where it all began.

Community Pig Roast

Community Pig Roast

It’s been a difficult week for our community, but it’s also been a week of people showing up for one another.

Luckey’s Woodsman is bringing a community pig roast to Lazy Z Ranch Wines as a way to care for the people caring for all of us.

Our ranch will be open beginning at noon, and the pig roast will be served from 3–9 PM, or until the food is gone.

If you’re a first responder or have been evacuated or displaced by the fire, this meal is for you. Please come. First responders are welcome to move to the front of the line so they can grab a meal and get back to work if needed.

For everyone else, the meal is pay what you can, with every dollar supporting the Hold the Line Fund so efforts like this can continue when our community needs them most.

There will be bottomless non-alcoholic beverages provided through the Hold the Line Fund, and our tasting room will be open throughout the day with our regular menu of meads, wines, beer, cider, cocktails, and other beverages available for purchase.

If you’re planning to join us, we’d appreciate it if you could carpool when possible. It’ll help us keep parking available for first responders and families directly affected by the fire.

If you can’t make it but would still like to help, donations can be made directly to @luckeyswoodsman on Venmo.

We know a meal doesn’t solve everything. But sometimes sitting around a table with neighbors, even for an hour, is exactly what a community needs.

As always, conditions can change quickly. We’ll post updates if our plans need to change.
